Hill College is grateful to announce a generous gift of over $640,000 from the Hill College Foundation to provide financial resources supporting the expansion, beautification, and maintenance at the Jerry Norton Wallace Campus in Hillsboro, as well as programming needs for the agricultural, cosmetology, nursing, and welding programs, which are housed there.
“Thank you for the immense generosity the foundation has demonstrated with the gifts to the college. The hard work and conscientious dedication to the foundation and the college continue to make a profound impact on the excellence of Hill College. The faculty, staff, and most importantly our students, will benefit from your commitment, hard work, and the generous foundation gifts for years to come. Thank you!” said Hill College President Dr. Thomas Mills.
This substantial donation was made possible by the Jerry Norton Wallace Fund, one of the trusts that make up the foundation, which provides financial support to the college through individual gifts thanks to donors in the Hillsboro community and throughout the state of Texas.
“The Hill College Foundation’s legacy of generosity benefits Hill College students every day. We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to the college and are excited to see the impact of their gifts,” said Ashlee Ferguson, executive director of institutional advancement.
The Hill College Foundation is a source of vital economic support for the college. These gifts allow the college to grow in an ever-changing educational environment and continue to support the level of education that is so important to the students it serves.
“The foundation’s generous donation has profoundly enhanced our skills lab, providing students with hands-on experience through state-of-the-art equipment. These invaluable resources not only bridge the gap between theory and practice but also empower our future nurses with the practical skills and confidence they need to excel in their careers. Thank you for making a significant impact on their learning journey,” said Hailey Kirkpatrick, vocational nursing program coordinator.
The monies provided from the foundation’s gift will provide much needed equipment for the agricultural, cosmetology, nursing, and welding programs, as well as truck-driving simulators for the Hill College Frontier Support Logistics Truck Driving Academy, one of the new programming initiatives for the college.
“This money will provide training on up-to-date equipment for our students to prepare them on a wide variety of machines and equipment so that when they enter the workplace, they are able to be productive from the very beginning of their career. We also want to build relationships with our employers and look forward to them hiring our students knowing that they will be a profitable asset to their teams and the community,” said Joe Price, welding program coordinator.
Founded in 1997, the Hill College Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) corporation that exists to assist in and contribute to the academic, vocational, and educational purposes and physical growth and development of Hill College.
